The rest, kept

Three habits get the room they deserve. Everything else your fingers do on a PC, Panes answers too.

  • Snap with the arrow keys

Win+Left becomes Ctrl+Option+Left. Halves, thirds and full screen, or drag a window to an edge.

  • Cut and paste files

Cmd+X, then Cmd+V in Finder. The file moves, like it always did.

  • A taskbar, if you miss it

Open windows along the bottom, with previews and number keys. Off until you turn it on.

  • Home and End

Start and end of the line, in any text field.

  • Ctrl+Backspace

Deletes a word. Ctrl+arrows jump by word, if you want them.

  • A cheat sheet on Option+F1

Search a Windows habit, read the Mac answer.

  • Mouse one way, trackpad the other

The wheel scrolls like it did on your PC. The trackpad stays natural.

  • New file, Copy path

Right click in Finder, like you always did.

  • Option+`, one app

Steps through the windows of the app in front.

Something else on your mind? Email us. A person answers.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once, and every future update is included, free.

Can I try it first?

There is no trial, and all sales are final. Watch the switcher above and the habits below; if a question is left, email us before you buy.

Why does it need Accessibility and Screen Recording?

Those are Apple's names for two switches in System Settings. Accessibility lets Panes move windows and notice when you press Option+Tab. Screen Recording lets it draw the little previews of your windows. Nothing is recorded or saved, and you can turn either off at any time.

Does it send anything to the internet?

Only to check for updates: every few minutes it downloads a small version file that carries nothing about you, and you can turn that off in Settings. Otherwise it goes online only when you click Buy, Activate or Check for updates. There is no account and no analytics.

Can I use Cmd+Tab instead of Option+Tab?

Yes. Pick it in Settings or in the welcome. Panes then hides the Mac's own app switcher while it is on.

Which Macs does it run on?

Macs with Apple silicon running macOS 14 or later. One purchase covers every one you own.

What if I want my Mac back to normal?

Turn off any feature in Settings, or quit Panes. Your Mac goes back to exactly how Apple shipped it.

I lost my key. What now?

The page you saw after paying shows the same key every time you open it, so bookmark it. Lost that too? Email us from the address you paid with and we will send the key.

Pay once. Your key appears on the next page, and Open in Panes turns everything on.
